The Food Department of the Income Generating Program receives food samples from the interested community members and after trials and tests encourages them to get to full scale production at the community kitchens. The aim of the Income Generating Program is to encourage the unemployed members of the community use their skills and resources to make products that can be sold in the market.

Tamarind Chutney was one of our first trial products and was launched in 2003.
